Atom Technologies started as a passion project to create unique and engaging games.
I, Atom, am an inspired programmer who likes working with computers and challenging the limits of software capabilities. I started my game development journey with Python3 and Pygame, creating space invaders clones or other simple projects. I then extended my skills to web development and tried using HTML to make games. Later I decided to tackle the beast, Unity game engine. I had to learn C# and the Unity interface through youtube and browsing Unity blogs, but eventually I did get a hang of Unity. And that's where Atom Technologies really started becoming something.
Atom Technologies started with a single game, Reverse Snake, the idea being simple: flip the script on the classic google snake and control the food to try and avoid the snake. I did this with the Unity game engine. The only problem was that it only existed on my computer. I wanted to share it with others, so I chose the name Atom Technologies and published it on the Microsoft Store. When I released it, I was excited when it reached 100 downloads, eventually a new idea came to me, and I wanted to make it into a game. That game was Lost Chakras, a completely different experience from Reverse Snake, but it was still a game I wanted to share with others. I published it on the Microsoft Store as well, and it eventually reached 1000 downloads.
I started branching out, designing short commercials on social media with CapCut and then DavinciResolve, I had to learn editing, design, and advertisement layout in order to accomplish this. I also created more games, each with its own unique style and gameplay, with more daring designs and sophisticated code. I also started sharing my games on other platforms like itch.io, and I even started a YouTube channel to share development updates and behind-the-scenes looks at my games. Now, Atom Technologies is a small indie game studio with a growing library of games, release trailers, and behind the scenes dev logs.
When I first started it was un thinkable that Atom would end up as such a big thing, with thousands of game downloads and views. The future is uncertain as always, and I'm excited to see where my game development adventures might lead!
